Weekend to Remember ❤️

Weekend date night with Dad Mark! ❤️

On October 24, 2026, we drove to Coach Kenny Deel Stadium in Melissa, Texas, for the UIL Area B 5A Marching Contest. Our evening together became a celebration of music, creativity, and talented young performers.

A Different Kind of Date Night

This time, we traded our usual dinner or movie outing for stadium lights and marching bands. We settled into the stands, took a few photos together, and enjoyed stadium nachos with cheese and jalapeños while watching the shows. Simple moments like these deserve a place in our memories, too.

Music, Movement & So Much Talent

What incredible performances! The field came alive with colorful formations, flags, imaginative props, and musicians moving together. Each show gave us something different to appreciate—from bold backdrops to carefully coordinated movements stretching across the field.

Watching from the stands, we could only imagine the hours of practice behind every performance. These students gave us plenty to applaud!

Community Pride Under the Lights

Our photos and videos captured Memorial, McKinney North, Independence, Panther Creek, Centennial, Argyle, Melissa, Lebanon Trail, Reedy, and Lone Star. Seeing our Frisco community represented made the evening especially meaningful. We were also glad to enjoy the talent shared by neighboring communities.

UIL marching band competition progresses through regional, area, and state stages. An area contest is part of that journey toward state—not the state championship itself. Learn more at uiltexas.org/music/marching-band.

Little Moments, Lasting Memories

Through Faithful Footprints Journey, I often share the places we travel to and the adventures we plan. But some memories happen close to home: a drive to Melissa, music filling the evening, and my husband beside me enjoying it all together.

That is why this evening belongs here in CHERISH. Everyday outings are part of our journey, too—the moments we might otherwise let pass without writing them down.

Grateful for This Evening Together

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of companionship, for music, and for the opportunity to appreciate these talented young people. We are grateful for another evening together and another memory to cherish.

Here’s to more little outings and shared experiences. ❤️

What simple outing has become a favorite memory for you?
